Possible Object

These works reference the missing Malaysian Airlines flight from March 2014.

Possible Object: MH370 has 62 pieces total, the number of windows on the side of a Boeing 777. Each piece depicts a speculative image of where the plane might have gone, with everyone from Fox News to Courtenay Love providing insight. The images are painted by dipping them into a pool of oil paint floating on water. These are meant to convey the sense of nihilism from the endless scroll of images, as well as the overwhelming sense of the unknown through this repetition of images of the ocean and the futile search which took place.

Possible Object: Ind O I-VII is a series which combines a seemingly objective depiction of the Indian Ocean (screen captures from Google Earth of the sea floor). The sea floor stands as a site of mystery and distant exploration. I combine these prints with painted marks whose application and subsequent removal create their own image.
